WARDOGS Equipment Database: Gear and Utility

Use the WARDOGS equipment database to separate confirmed gear roles from Alpha 1 items, while keeping prices, effects, charges, and limits marked unconfirmed.

What counts as equipment in WARDOGS?

The WARDOGS equipment database covers gear and utility placed beside weapons and vehicles in the custom loadout purchased for each life. Teamplay actions can reward cash, which means equipment decisions connect personal spending with the shared Control Zone objective. The public sources do not publish a final item list, slot system, capacity table, or stable attribute sheet.

Team17 gives a ghillie suit as an example of a player choosing to hide and snipe from distance. It also describes forward operating bases and supply transport as possible ways to support a team. These examples show use cases, not a complete catalogue or fixed class system.

What gear categories were observed?

The competitor Alpha 1 catalogue groups visible gear into helmets, armour, and backpacks. Candidate names include Light Helmet, Medium Helmet, Heavy Helmet, Super Heavy Helmet, Ghillie Helmet, Light Armor, Medium Armor, Heavy Armor, Super Heavy Armor, Ghillie Armor, and Scout Backpack.

Those labels are pre-release observations. The catalogue does not provide a verified final protection table, movement penalty, weight rule, price, or unlock requirement for the live game. Keep each candidate tied to Alpha 1 and mark any later change as pending documentation until an official build confirms it.

What utility categories were observed?

The Alpha 1 equipment catalogue organizes utility into Offensive, Medical, Recon and Vehicle Support, and Building and Utility. Candidate names include IED, AT Mine, Claymore, Stimpen, Enox, Defibrillator, Medical Bag, Binoculars, Rangefinder, Fuel Can, Repair Tool, M18 Smoke Grenade, and Battery.

The catalogue warns that some display names were reconstructed from internal identifiers. Charges, cooldowns, placement limits, and final effects were not consistently confirmed. These names can guide future data collection, but they should not be presented as official release guarantees or fixed professions.

What changed in the Season 1 equipment data?

The September 9 Season 1 changelog moves the Sports Parachute from Career level 36 to 35 and the Large Backpack from level 56 to 55. It also moves the Large Hammer from Support level 7 to 8 and raises the listed Medium Hammer price from $10,000 to $25,000 and Large Hammer price from $25,000 to $75,000. These are dated launch values and should be kept separate from the earlier Alpha candidate catalogue.

The same changelog adjusts supply-crate pricing and role-track curves, but it does not publish a complete equipment stat sheet. Protection, movement effects, charges, cooldowns, and final availability still need an item-specific source before they can be added here.

How does equipment support a squad?

Equipment is useful when it solves the active objective problem. Medical tools can support recovery, reconnaissance tools can improve information, vehicle-support items can help movement, and building tools can reinforce an approach. The official FAQ describes roles as player-defined, so a player is not locked to one equipment category at spawn.

The best choice depends on the current route and the squad’s needs. A utility purchase competes with a weapon, vehicle, or another support item for the same per-life cash. Exact item prices, teamplay payouts, capacity, and resupply rules remain unpublished.

Are gear items faction-exclusive?

No official source confirms a Lonestar-, Valkyra-, or Manticore-only equipment list. Promotional clothing or colour can identify the visual context of a scene, but it does not prove a purchase restriction or attribute bonus. The database should call an item shared unless a dated official rule says otherwise.

This distinction also protects the database from over-reading screenshots. A helmet, armour silhouette, backpack, or tool visible in a trailer is not enough to name the item or estimate its protection. Use the official item text or a reproducible build record for future additions.

How should beginners choose equipment?

Choose equipment around the job the squad needs now. If the team must hold a route, defensive or medical support may matter more than a second offensive item; if it must move supplies, vehicle-support utility may be relevant. Keep a reserve for another life and record what the current build actually allows.

Do not follow a fixed “best gear” list based only on Alpha observations. Build balance, costs, charges, and effects can change during Early Access. A useful database entry includes the source, version, role, and confidence instead of pretending every candidate is final.

What remains unconfirmed?

The final gear and utility roster, slots, prices, protection, movement effects, weight, capacity, charges, cooldowns, placement limits, resupply, faction restrictions, and version differences are not listed in the collected sources. The Alpha candidate names are not a guarantee of Early Access availability. Official images show environment context, not item statistics.

The direct answer is that WARDOGS equipment is a flexible gear-and-utility layer inside each custom loadout. A ghillie suit and team-support tools are official examples, while the wider candidate database remains version-dependent until the developer publishes a complete list.
