How much does WARDOGS cost?

The collected Steam store data lists WARDOGS at US$39.99 for the base edition. A separate Supporter Edition is listed at US$49.99. Those are the observed US prices in the source material, not a promise that every country sees the same amount after regional pricing, tax, or currency conversion.

Steam is the correct place to check the price shown for your account and region. Prices can change during Early Access, and the developer’s FAQ says Early Access is planned to be priced lower than the eventual full release. A new discount, price change, or 1.0 price is “待确认” until the current store page displays it.

What is included in the base edition?

The base purchase is the standard WARDOGS game listed for Steam Early Access. The store describes the playable product as a large-scale, up-to-100-player tactical FPS with three teams, Control Zone objectives, cash and XP progression, vehicles, logistics, building, destruction, and proximity voice. The page does not provide a separate list of every base-edition cosmetic or future content item.

The preorder announcement connects the purchase with guaranteed access to the documented Closed Beta window. That guarantee applied to the August 21–23 test described in the announcement; it should not be read as a permanent beta entitlement for every future test. Early Access access and a closed-test invitation are separate states.

What is the Supporter Edition?

The official Steam announcement describes Supporter Edition as optional cosmetic content for players who want to support BULKHEAD and the future development of WARDOGS. The listed examples include starter weapon camos, branded rifle and vehicle camos, a scoreboard supporter icon that can be hidden, and bobblehead cosmetics. These are cosmetic additions rather than a statement that the edition unlocks stronger combat stats.

The same announcement says the game will not monetize in-game cash or gold bars during Early Access and will not sell camos directly, with the optional Supporter Edition as the stated exception. This is the developer’s published position at the time of the source, not a guarantee about every post-1.0 business decision. Check later official announcements for changes.

Is WARDOGS free to play?

No collected source describes WARDOGS as free to play. The Steam listing presents it as a premium purchase with a base edition and a Supporter Edition. The game’s cash economy is earned through play, and the announcement explicitly says cash and gold bars are not to be directly monetized during Early Access.

That in-game cash is not the same as the store price. Players start with the published in-game balance and earn more through team actions, while the game purchase grants access to the product. Do not confuse screenshots of cash rewards with a free-to-play currency offer.

Can the price change later?

The Early Access FAQ says the developer plans to price the game lower during Early Access and may raise the price as content, systems, and polish are added before full release. It also says the exact Early Access duration and future scope can change. Therefore, the current US$39.99 and US$49.99 figures should be treated as a dated store snapshot.

The most useful buying check is to open Steam, compare the edition descriptions, and review the refund policy that applies to your purchase. PC Gamer’s coverage also reported the US$39.99 preorder price and encouraged readers to wait or refund if the beta did not meet expectations. External coverage adds context, but Steam remains the final price source.
